A Gorgon's Journal - Part 1
Day 1, Month 1, Year 1
I woke up today on a stone slab in the middle of a dark temple. I have no recollection of who I am or what I'm doing here. I don't feel it is amnesia, as I don't feel like I'm forgetting anything. It's weird...I have knowledge of this world despite having no memory of anything else. I know what the animals are called, what a tree is, what a plant is...I know how to talk, read, and write, and yet it's as if I suddenly dropped out of the sky and into this temple just a few hours ago.
I also have snakes for hair. It's not as bothersome as one would think, having live creatures living on your head. For the most part

Day 3, Month 1, Year 1
The only goal for today was to find a way to easily move heavy statues around the temple. While I could carry them, it would be slow and painful. Plus, the odds of me breaking and shattering one would be too high. I spent the first part of the day searching the temple for rope but to no avail. In the end, I ended up using some of the largest vines I could find from the pillars at the front of the temple to construct a sort of harness. Using it, I can tie several vines around the statues to secure them and then slip my arms through two other straps. This

Day 7, Month 1, Year 1
Today was my second encounter with humans. It did not go well.
The rain of the past few days had left and now there was plentiful sunshine. I decided I would quickly go outside today and look at the grounds surrounding the temple. I had my hesitations from the days before but I realize now that such unfortunate events will always occur with me. There's nothing stopping a stray animal from walking in the front door or landing on the roof while I'm practicing my lyre. I'm going to have to live with it.
However, my plans were cut incredibly short. As I rounded the corner to step outside, my eyes met the eyes of a young

Day 10, Month 1, Year 1
Just as I've been fearing for days, the first warrior came today to avenge his friends. I was eating lunch when I heard him calling me out from the main entrance. He gave a long-winded speech about how he would "show me the light of justice" and other lines that I'm sure he thought would fill me with fear. Instead they just made me want to get rid of him sooner. When he was done, I gave him my own speech: I told him my side of the story. I told him I didn't want to cause anyone harm, that I just wanted to be left alone. I begged for him to leave if he valued his own life.
He just laughed. "A trick", he called

Day 15, Month 1, Year 1
I start my third week today in here today. I keep telling myself each day that maybe tomorrow, I'll go and find some answers about who I am or why I'm here, but I don't even know where to begin to search. However, I am quite certain someone has a plan for me: this temple conveniently appearing at the same time I did, this journal left for me, the lyre, all signs that someone is looking out for me. But why would someone create all of this for a single gorgon? If that person has the ability to create life and buildings and objects out of nothing, what purpose could I possibly serve them that they could not do thems

Day 25, Month 1, Year 1
Yesterday was a particularly terrifying turn of events during which I came far closer to death than I would like to come in a long time.
It started much like the encounters of the past week or so. Yet another blindfolded warrior had come to claim my life. He tried to make as little noise as possible but it was all pointless: I've made it a habit to walk past the main foyer every thirty minutes or so just to check if someone is coming. I spotted him and gave him my traditional warning. I pleaded with him to go home, to spare his own life. I tried to tell him that I only use my powers for self-defense. But he re
